Barbara Marriott, Ph.D., was born and raised in New Jersey, but that didn't stop her from seeing the rest of the world. For thirty years she traveled in wonder, but found people to be more interesting than places. And, that is what she writes about. She has won several literary awards and 7 of her 9 nonfiction books are placed in New Mexico and Arizona. They feature pioneers and outlaws, all of whom helped to put together a courageous, and cantankerous west. Unable to focus on one topic or category, Marriott also has 2 U. S. Navy history books, not about battles, or wars, but about people, their heroics and humor. She ventures into the fiction arena with a colorful 1890 character. Her fictional character intersperses history with comedy to show that there always have been liberated women.
