A Bit About Me
Roland Rick Church, Native American Author
Rick is an enrolled member of the Stockbridge-Munsee Mohican Nation and is a former Tribal Council member as well as a Director of Public Safety for his tribe. After retiring he was appointed as a Tribal Police and Fire Commissioner. He is a decorated Marine Corps Vietnam combat veteran and had a 26-year law enforcement career starting out as a State Trooper and later as a Special Investigator working undercover for the Dept of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation. Rick was a police patrol sergeant and later a fraud unit supervisor for the State of Arizona Office of Special Investigations. He was a investigator for a CIA contractor and is a graduate of the FBI Academy Command College Quantico.
He has his Masters degree in Forensic Psychology and has taught Criminal justice course work for both undergraduate and graduate level students. Rick had private investigative agencies in Wisconsin and Arizona and had drug cartel exposure in Arizona. His private investigative work included criminal defense work in both Wisconsin and Arizona as well as the Federal court system.
His protagonist in his stories is a native American e-cop, private investigator named Noel Two Horses who runs his investigative agency out of a mystery bookshop that is fully furnished with Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson parlor chairs, a fireplace with mantel and telegrams lying about from Scotland Yard. He has yellow forensic body outlines painted on the bookshop floor and a secret door leading to the restrooms, hopefully the customers will find the door in a timely fashion. Currently the Noel Two Horses series is composed of:
White Doe
War Party
Counting Coup
Drums along the Fox
Bear Child
Dark Bull
Dog Soldier is due out this summer
