Richard Baron is a Lean Maturity Specialist for Nationwide Insurance in Scottsdale, Arizona. This book was written when he was the Process and Project Coordinator for Coconino County in Arizona. Previously, he was a consultant for the Arizona Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), a nationwide organization providing Lean consultation to manufacturers. He has been involved with manufacturing for most of his career.

Richard has produced and recorded seminars on Lean and Six Sigma, which are available through the Alliance for Innovation at www.transformgov.org.

He holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Acuity Institute, a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University, a Master’s in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Arizona State University.
