A Bit About Me

Margaret Ann Spence writes about women, the choices they make, and what happens next. Her first novel, Lipstick on the Strawberry, won the Romantic Elements Category in the First Coast Romance Writers 2015 Beacon Contest. Her second novel, Joyous Lies, was a finalist in the 2021 Somerset Book Awards for Literary and Contemporary Fiction, a genre division of the Chanticleer International Book Awards ( the CIBAs).

Now a resident of Arizona, Margaret grew up in Australia. In September 2024 her memoir, Cold War in a Hot Kitchen, was published by the Australian publisher Wakefield Press, and is available on Amazon.com in this country. She’s a graduate of the University of Melbourne (BA), Boston University ( MS.in Journalism) and Simmons University ( MBA) and has worked in publishing, journalism, public relations and public diplomacy.
