A Bit About Me

I was born in Greenville, South Carolina in 1953, but, grew up in Lebanon,Pennsylvania. I moved to Prescott, Arizona in 1973. I went to college at Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania for two years and finished my college education at Northern Arizona University in 1976 with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Journalism/Public Relations. After college I worked for the City Of Prescott in Public Relations, followed by working at The Prescott Review for a few months...before they went out of business. Since it was almost impossible to get another position in my field of study, I wound up entering the retail industry, working my way up to a manager of a local pharmacy. Once that business folded, I continued to work in retail at various positions.

However, all the while, writing was my passion. I began writing song lyrics when I was about sixteen years old in 1969. So far, I have written more than 15,000 lyrics, or, like people want to call them...song poems. I began going through my lyrics in 2015, and, have written seven books so far based on my "song poems". The titles of these books are: "Lyrical Life", "Second Thoughts", "Life Happens In Threes", "Before Time Catches Up", "5 O'Clock Shadows", "Sixth Sojourn", and, "Seasons Of Seven". I am currently putting together my next book, hoping to finish it by September. All of my books are available on Amazon. I have had many of my song lyrics put into actual songs, having placed them with publishers over the years, but, no major record deals. I am a member of BMI (Broadcast Music Publishing), The Arizona Songwriters Association, and, now with The Arizona Authors Association.

During my retail career, I have written and produced many radio and TV commericals for broadcast. I have had several articles written about me in the Prescott Courier concerning my prolific lyric writing. I have also written a script for "Star Trek: Voyager", that was reviewed by the producers of that show, but the year after I wrote it, the show was cancelled. I have also written a song for American Idol, years ago, when they were accepting songs for a contest they had. However, it was not picked for their top 20. The song was called "The Golden Ticket." I have two songs on Youtube called "Two Hands" and "I Don't Want To Be Like The Rest Of The World." I am married, have two children and four grandchildren. My musical influences have been The Moody Blues, Neil Diamond, Carly Simon, Ian Hunter, Neil Young, Eric Carmen, Jon Anderson of Yes and Jim Steinman of Meatloaf fame.
