Born and raised in Maine, he attended the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy, joined the Kappa Sigma fraternity, and fell in love with the West.

As a youngster, he was tormented by his siblings, bullied at school, and abused by a priest. He and his partner of nearly 30 years have formed an unorthodox family. Members aren't afraid to show compassion, have empathy, and be there for each other.

In 1991 he was in a severe accident and suffered a TBI (traumatic brain injury), where part of his brain was torn. In 2014 he was in an explosion that threw him through a set of wooden doors, he woke up on fire from head to toes. In 2023 he suffered a massive stroke, now he is back to writing, because what else can he do?
