Boye Lafayette De Mente founded the Arizona Authors Association in 1978. A longtime author, editor and publisher, he lived most of his senior years in Arizona with his wife, Margaret. Boye earned a spot in the Guiness Book of World Records when he joined his friend, Ben, on a journey from Japan to Alaska in an amphibious jeep. He later wrote a book about this adventure. While Boye died in 2017, his legacy is still very much alive here at the Arizona Authors Association.
