I'm a descendant of the brave souls who answered Catherine II’s call to relocate from the Germanic states to the Russian Empire in 1766. I trace my paternal line to the Russian villages of Mariental and Louis and my maternal line to Reinwald, Rosenfeld am Nachoi, and Balzer. With the support of many mentors and friends, I've tracked most lines back to their Germanic origins as early as 1699. As a life member of both the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia and the German Heritage Society, I enjoy creating presentations about writing and my ancestry.
