Al Krockey is the author of Straight Outta Skokie: The Krockey Chronicles, a memoir trilogy capturing his coming-of-age in late 1960s Chicago. The first book, 1968 (released October 2025), follows a teenage entrepreneur immersed in music, friendships, and a rapidly changing cultural landscape. Growing up in Skokie, Al’s early ventures—from hustling outside Wrigley Field to launching The Record Shack—reflect his lifelong passion for music and business. After a successful career in insurance consulting, he returned to writing. Now based in Arizona, Al is working on the second book, A Krockey Road Ahead: 1969, scheduled for release in 2026.
