Wayne Edwards

Published Author

Wayne was born and raised in a small town in rural, central Montana. He received his Pre-Med/Chemistry degree in 1975 from Montana State University and his DDS degree from the University of Washington in 1980. When a neurological condition forced his retirement from Dentistry in 1986, he returned to the small town in which he was raised and became the 3rd generation Edwards to join the family agricultural bank that was started by his grandfather in 1929. He became the owner and President of the country bank shortly thereafter, and remained as such until his retirement in 2018. Since Wayne was a 3-sport high school standout and an All-Conference college running back, he was the logical candidate for the school to recruit as the local high school football coach when the existing coach suddenly left before the 1991 season. It was this playing and coaching background that was the inspiration for his just published first book “Pacer Coulee Chronicles,” a story about the unique interconnections between school, sport and community in rural, small-town America. Wayne and his wife, Lorinda, have long had a home in Cave Creek, AZ where they reside during the winter and spring.
