Sher Downing, PhD, is a speaker, coach, Distinguished Author, and CEO who helps entrepreneurs and leaders build businesses that last, even when life asks more of them than a business plan ever accounts for. She is Founder & CEO of Downing EdTech Consulting and Founder & Creator of The Entrepreneur Sandwich™, a coaching practice and community for business owners who are also caregivers.

As a speaker, Sher delivers keynotes and workshops for entrepreneurs, business leaders, and higher education audiences, including her signature workshop series, The Sandwich Solution™. As a coach, she guides clients through growth and transition using her proprietary ADVANCE Framework™ and CARRY Model™, practical tools that turn competing demands into clear, sustainable plans.

Sher was named a Distinguished Author by the International Impact Book Awards for Navigating The Entrepreneur Sandwich™: Essential Strategies for Balancing Business Demands and Family Caregiving Responsibilities, launched on National Caregivers Day 2026 with contributions from Dorie Clark and Chip Conley. Her second book, The Responsible One, is coming in 2027.

As CEO, Sher founded Downing EdTech Consulting in 2018 to deliver strategy, transformation, and market access for institutions, businesses, and vendors at the intersection of EdTech and AgeTech. She draws on more than 30 years of experience, including C-suite roles at R1 research institutions.

Sher is an EdTech Digest Leading Voice (2026–27), one of the Top 50 Women Leaders in Arizona, an HBR Ascend writer, and host of Forward Thinking Experts, a top 100 educational technology podcast. She holds a PhD and a Master of Legal Studies from Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law. She lives and works in Phoenix, Arizona.
