A native of Arizona, Mala Blomquist grew up in Scottsdale, where she gained an appreciation for the desert and a love of its breathtaking sunsets. As a young wife and mother, she began freelance writing, which spanned into a career as a writer and editor for niche publications in Arizona for more than 25 years. She is currently the managing editor of the Jewish News of Greater Phoenix.
