Afton Zapata-Scow
Published Author, Educator
Afton Zapata-Scow lives in Mesa, Arizona with her husband, Shaun. She spends much of her time with elementary students, as a teacher, and quality time with her grandchildren. Afton embraces life by taking a break from the day-to-day routine to travel with her husband and visit many historical sites, National Parks and state capitol buildings.
Afton’s writing career began several years ago when she published first memoir entitled, Enduring Miracles about the effects of an illness on a marriage and family. Afton continued to write about her husband, Juan and his final battle with valley fever in another memoir, Enduring the End. Her latest memoir is called Enduring Grief, a self-help book to encourage widows to never give up.
Afton has also published children's books: The Blonde Volcano and 'Twas the Last Day of School Before Winter Break. She has many unpublished manuscripts, hoping that will one day find themselves in front of readers.
Afton's books can be found on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Authorhouse. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher, Afton has inspired others with her storytelling. Her faith in God and family have shaped her into who she is today and hope to give others with same encouragement to endure whatever they encounter in their own lives.
