More about Strategic Ladies:

Creativity is a special flow that occurs when the mind is still and the heart is open. This rhythm, known to everyone, can fade with deadlines, distractions, and self-doubt. Strategic Ladies, Dr. E and Dr. Jai, a mother-daughter team, know this too well: in their pursuit of doctorates at the same time, their creative writing skills had to shift to an academic tone, which, for them, was an uphill climb rather than a mindful flow. It was with the challenge that Situational Mediation was born, in theory and practice, and found to be the anchor that grounds them in all situations.

The Power of Situational Meditation
"Writing is an act of meditation. Each word is a breath, each page a reflection of how present you are willing to be."

— Strategic Ladies
Situational Meditation is the art of creating peace wherever you are, at any moment. It meets you in the coffee shop on a busy commute or in the quiet moments before bed. It brings our attention to reconnecting with our breath, environment, faith, and the stories within them. It is for everyone, but for writers, it opens the flow we need to write mindfully, allowing creativity to emerge naturally with greater clarity and focus. Instead of fighting the blank page, you begin to see it as a mirror of your mind: open, limitless, and full of potential.

When we slow down long enough to feel the texture of our thoughts, we can edit with grace rather than judgment, we release what no longer serves us, and publish for the purpose, not under pressure. We can truly love. Situational Meditation is a practice culture where we live and love mindfully, moment by moment.

Authors Book Read
This season, Dr. E and Dr. Jai are reading Carol Dweck's 2006 book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success. Dweck's work resonates deeply with our work at Strategic Ladies, as it continues to motivate us and our clients toward greater resilience, greater willingness to learn, and improved self-improvement, sharing the difference between a growth-versus-fixed mindset.

A growth mindset is essential because we often fall into the trap of perfectionism or comparison. When we aren't, we fall into a fixed mindset, leading us to think we aren't enough, and we lose self-confidence. Situational Meditation helps us focus by teaching us to acknowledge, accept, and let go of negative emotions, shifting to a positive growth mindset. We free ourselves from fear and begin to see everything in life, not as a performance, but as growth and peace. That's the essence of meditation—every breath, every word, every session on the page is part of becoming who we're to be.
