A Bit About Me

John S. O’Connor II, Jack, as he is known to his friends, is a retired military officer, decorated combat veteran and an Arizona resident since the early 1980s. Following his military career he spent time as an executive in corporate America going on to establish and run several small businesses in the U.S. and Europe.

He’s been writing poems and short stories for decades, but only began publishing his works in 2023. His published books include: The Life and Adventures of Delbert Spool, the trilogy: The Chronicles of Tittsworth: Book One - The Black Hand, Book Two - Operation Justice Reach and Book Three - The Midnight Rescue (in press). His has also published two books of short stories: Six Stories, a compendium of short stories about life, and Stories From War: Vietnam, stories based on real events from his time in Vietnam.

Jack holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology from Arizona State University and is a fellow of the American College of Sports and Medicine. An avid sportsman, Jack has run over 10 marathons and triathlons, made more than 100 parachute jumps, 500 scuba dives, bicycled across the United States, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, swam in the Antarctic Ocean and skied all over North America and Europe. His businesses and travels have taken him to all 50 states and 38 countries across all seven continents. He’s had an adventurous and wonderful life.

Jack writes as a hobby and lives with his wife Ellen and the cattle dog Maizy in Mesa, Arizona.
